Should I be Sleeping? YES!

Well the time is 1:03am and I SHOULD be ASLEEP! But for some reason I can't seem to shut my eyes. If I would only try it for 10 seconds, I know it would be great and I would fall asleep, but my eyes just won't close.

Since I'm not asleep I thought I would blog a little.

Well next week is the Senior/College Age Spring Retreat that I have been working on for 4 months. Boy will I be glad once next weekend is over. I can then finally rest my brain, at least from Retreat planning, that is. See my problem is I'm addicted to trying to make everything as perfect as perfect can be. I can't half way do anything and save myself time and agony. NO I have to make it harder on myself. (this is something I wish I didn't do)

I would say what all I have been working on, but I don't want to give any secrets away. We try to keep the retreats top secret. So once next weekend is over I will post pictures and tell everyone how it went. I think the youth will have a really great time or at least I hope they do.

Enough about a retreat that I'm not giving any other information about until after next weekend. So until then I will just have to talk about the most precious thing in my life, Reagan. Last friday Reagan went to the Doctor and she was diagnoised with Strep. This has been her first time getting strep and it came on fast and left fast. Thank You Lord! However in normal Reagan form, you would never know by looking at her that she was sick. She has more energy when she is sick then I do when I'm well. Boy what I would give to have an ounce of her energy. She was running a 101 temp. and was still running around the house like it was nothing. I am so thankful though that she is like she is. She isn't a whiner, however as she has gotten a little older the whinning has seemed to start emerging. Reagan is a tough little girl. She takes a licken and keeps on ticken.

So as most of you know Reagan takes Gymnastics. She has been taking it since she turned 1. Gymnastics comes very natural to her and the coaches are amazed at how well she does for being so young. About 3 months ago she was moved up to an advanced class. She is actually working on doing a cartwheel. It is amazing that she can almost do a cartwheel. She was showing Charlie and I last night how she does it and she actually gets both feet up in the air (halfway, not straight up in the air though) and gets up and over to the other side. I will try to post pictures later of her doing some stuff at gymnastics. I have been a very bad mommie and haven't taken any pictures of her since she started her new class. However I will show you just how Reagan gets her strength training in while she isn't in the gym.
Cardio

Upper and Lower Body Workout

Ok I'm just joking about her strength training. We were just enjoying the warm weather we were having and just goofing off.

Well until after the retreat.

Love you all,

Ashley

What a wonderful site to behold!

Thank you Lord oh Thank you Lord! Tonight I was blessed with the oppurtunity to see Kevin Walker make the most wonderful decision he will ever make in his life. Kevin gave his life to Christ and was baptized at 9:30pm. Kevin joined our bible study group tonight and afterwards asked to be baptized. What an awesome way to end a beautiful day the Lord has blessed us with. Congratulations Kevin! I am so proud of you!
Until I blog again,
Ashley

Oh my the world of blogging has begun!

So as you see, I have stepped over into the world of blogging in hopes that I may keep you all up to date on our ever so busy life. Reagan is growing so fast and unfortunatley we don't get around to seeing our family and friends like we would like to, so hopefully this will help everyone get a glimpse into the world of the Lockes.

Where oh where do I begin? Well as you all know Rea is 2 1/2 and I am loving it. I love waking up every morning to a new saying that may just come out of her mouth. In the meantime I'm scratching my head thinking where did she come up with that. But as we all know little ears hear all, even when we don't realize they are listening. So more than likely she has picked it up from Charlie or yes even me. I have even learned just how I am doing on my parenting by watching her be a mommie to her "2". (for those of you that don't know her "2", well this is her 3rd, yes I said it 3rd cat. All of them have been named "2". So really this one is 222.) (Charlie and I just hope this one last forever.) Just to give everyone a little info. on her other "2s": the first one was given to her as a joke for her second birthday, well acutally it was a joke on charlie, but it backfired on me and so we then ended up with a kitten, in which she/we named "2" since Rea had turned 2. Well "2" #1 lived with us for about 3 months and then we think a rattlesnake decided to try and have her for lunch. So we felt bad and got her another "2" which we actually called "22". Well we live in the country and unfortunately something got "22" after about only 1 month. So needless to say this new "2" is an inside cat for right now. We weren't going to get her a new kitten but once Rea realized what Santa's job was she started asking Santa to bring her a new "2". So you know Santa couldn't disappoint a little girl that has been good all year, well most of the year that is.

Now getting back to Reagan's mothering skills on her "2". Reagan is great mother! LOL She puts "2" in timeout when "2" is bad, she kisses and hugs her "2", and more than anything loves her "2". Oh I forgot to mention the occasional choking and wagging her around like a doll. (No I do not choke my child, so I'm not sure where she learned that.) However not only has she learned how to mother "2" from the way I mother Reagan, but she has also learned how to care for other people from watching "2". i.e. Reagan has tired to give me a bath by licking me. She chased me all around the playroom one night trying to lick me. Tis the joys of having a 2 1/2 year old.

Rea and "2"

Okay, so as you see I have become a blogger. Now I can't say that I will be a faithful blogger but I will try to keep it updated regularly. You may get bored with some of the stuff I may put on here but that is the Lockes life and sometimes it is boring.

So I must go for now and save "2" from the great mothering skills of my mini me.

One last thing I may just allow Charlie to blog a little on occasion. He is actually a great expressionist (if that is even a word)! Now I must warn you that I may mistype or misspell things and for sure my grammer isn't going to be the best, but at least my thoughts will get blogged about.

Loving you all,
Ashley
